Crescent groove forming function and milling method:
1. Basic crescent groove generating function: The tool bar axis of the flying cutter milling machine and the workpiece (roller) rotary axis form a 90º angle with each other, the tool bar spindle axis is placed at the center of the roll ring groove, and the tool bar head is located on the plane perpendicular to the workpiece axis and the tool bar axis. When the machine tool is working, the tool bar spindle and the roll complete the interpolation rotation movement, and the tool bar axis performs the feed movement toward the center of the workpiece until the tool bar spindle axis reaches the required center of the projection arc of the roll ring groove transverse rib (crescent groove).
